In the recent past on this page, many have expressed their dismay with the planned destruction of the Smartville Teaching Garden at Enota school. Hundreds more who have not written share that sentiment. Jack Pyburn’s letter, published Friday, makes a new compelling point.
Pyburn, an architect, says the school has retained architects capable of creative design. He says they should be given the latitude to apply their full range of talents so the critical components of the garden can be incorporated into a new school design.
For all of the reasons previously expressed on this page, I believe the Gainesville community would strongly agree.
