The withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Accord ordered by President Donald Trump has caused his enemies great concern. Their attitude demonstrates their ignorance of the Accord and the climate.
There is no one on the planet who can’t see that, over time, the climate changes. We have ample evidence from geology of previous periods of abnormally high temperatures as well as periods of extreme cold. The argument is much influence does man have on those changes.
What we see in the environment is a snapshot. The changes that are occurring will take millennia to complete and our ability to impact that process either positively or negatively is impossible to assess.
The Paris Accord would economically punish the United States, though we have made immense progress in the reduction of greenhouse gases. At the same time, the Accord left unhindered, for decades, those nations known to be the worst polluters of our atmosphere.
President Trump’s decision will give the world community the opportunity to rethink their approach and will result in a more rapid move toward a cleaner and sustainable environment by all nations.
The objective of the leftist Climate Change rhetoric is to put an ever increasing percentage of our lives under government control. Socialism or communism to take control of society must instill a sense of panic in the public. The focus of their impassioned fear tactic is to convince the masses that only big government can save them.
The opposite is true. Only the efforts of people, empowered by freedom and capitalism can ensure a future with hope.
