Letter: Problems shouldnt discourage you but should help develop you

I have been on the Lula City Council for more than 16 years, and we and other city officials face problems every day on how to improve our cities to benefit our residents. I consider this union as a marriage that can cost you something, because self love is always what you can do for me.

You don’t have to go to school to learn right from wrong because you should learn that in the home. The thing most important in any civilization is the home, not just a house.

We as elected officials must have the involvement of the people and a set of goals to accomplish. People are always looking for someone to blame. God honors faithfulness, so we need to ask ourselves if we are faithful in our daily living to our work, families and each other. We can have a lot of misfortune or handicaps, but we don’t have to let that stop us from pressing on and achieving our goals.

We have to ask ourselves: How do we act to address a problem? How do we see a problem that can give us an idea of how to deal with it? Problems can be an asset, not to discourage you but to develop you. You will never get through this life without problems. Do we have someone around us who can prevent us from seeing and obtaining our purpose and goals?

God never takes anything from us unless He gives us something better to build a better place and future for everyone. We must all work together for the betterment of all.
