Letter: Presidents triumphs over first 6 months are impressive

There are some things I dislike about President Donald Trump, but isn’t that true of most anyone you’ve ever known or observed? Over the years, I’ve learned to value a person’s results more than their idiosyncrasies. By that measure, he is doing extremely well in his first six months at the Oval Office.

Of course, if you listen to the Democrats, President Trump is guilty of treason and should be impeached. The left simply can’t accept him as our duly-elected president. Moreover, the only agenda the Democrats have is Trump-bashing in conjunction with the biased media. They also have no clear national leader. Is it Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker or someone yet to be determined on a woefully weak leadership bench? Mercifully, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Democratic has-beens, won’t be in charge.

Now, let’s examine what Trump and his team have done or are doing:

Many stifling federal regulations have been eliminated to boost business growth.

The stock market is at an all-time high and climbing steadily.

Illegal immigration is down dramatically because the authorities can now enforce the law.

Illegal immigrant criminals are being deported, including brutal MS13 thugs.

Initial funding for the southern border wall is approved and construction plans are being evaluated.

One Supreme Court Justice has been appointed and more should be confirmed in Trump’s first term.

American leadership is being restored globally and our allies are heartened.

Plans are being developed to lower individual and corporate tax rates.

Scandal-ridden Veterans Affairs is being purged and bad employees are being fired.

The military is being rebuilt to make us stronger against our enemies.

Police officers are getting the support they deserve.

America is tapping into all its energy resources, including the Keystone Pipeline and coal production, and we’re becoming an energy exporter.

ISIS is being decimated and suspected terrorists are being prohibited from entering our nation.

Trade deals are being restructured with an “America first” mindset.

The relationship with Israel, our most loyal ally in the Middle East, is being restored.

If you’re a red-blooded patriot who wants to make America great again, how can you find fault with this string of remarkable achievements? Yet, the liberal politicians and lap dog media can only focus on one thing: Russia’s alleged influence on Trump and his election. Most voters are tired of this drama.

Why would Russian president Vladimir Putin want a strong leader like Trump in office instead of a weakling like Clinton? Remember her laughable “reset button” with Russia? Furthermore, Trump plans to export energy to Europe, which will severely weaken the Russian economy. Hillary versus Vladimir would have been a pitiful mismatch, so why would Putin have preferred a fighter like Trump?

Great American presidents like Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan were despised by many people, but their track records speak for themselves. President Trump is all about results and keeping his campaign promises. If you detest him, you do so at grave peril to our nation. God bless America.
