Letter: Letter was out of line in attacking Christians

Regarding Joan King’s latest letter to the editor concerning Christianity being under attack, she doesn’t buy any of it and according to her last statement believes “the very idea of Christians under attack is going to cost the taxpayers dearly in time, energy and lost revenue.”

Wow! That’s a leap!

I’m a Christian and have paid my fair share of local and federal taxes. I’ve also used my energy to the best of my ability to make my community a better place to live. Furthermore, I know countless Christians who are all taxpaying, productive citizens.

I took issue with everything Joan said in her letter but the last straw was so preposterous to suggest that Christians don’t contribute their fair share in taxes and in some way are burdens to society just needed to be addressed as completely false.

In my church family we have business owners, landlords, school teachers, police officers, counselors, doctors, truck drivers, mechanics and in fact, probably any occupation you can name.

Also, I don’t know of any true Christian who is adding to our prison population. They are some of the most law-abiding people there are. Thank God for them.
