In Friday’s edition of The Times, I saw the report by Jeff Gill about our Hall County commissioners discussing a million-dollar long-range solution to the backups at the Sardis and Ledan roads intersection. This is an intersection I have to pass through several times a week.
Since Commissioner Scott Gibbs experienced a 25-minute delay getting through last Monday, have they considered all the time wasted by the residents they are supposed to serve who have to go through that intersection every day?
How about a quick solution that won’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars? Have a sheriff’s deputy or a trained volunteer direct traffic at the intersection for an hour in the morning and after work.
I see Hall County deputies already directing traffic at nearby Chestatee High School, Sardis Elementary and the Fieldale Plant in Murrayville, so we all know it can be done if they really are committed to helping now.
