Long before I was a columnist, a part of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and a corporate suit, I was in broadcasting. While at WSB radio, colleagues Jimmy Bridges, Jim Wesley and I formed a company called Sports Specials and for several years we broadcast high school football and basketball games, as well as the NASCAR races. Frankly, with all that has gone on in my life — and it has been a lot — I had pretty much forgotten Sports Specials.
