Update, 4:30 p.m.:

Traffic is moving again and lanes are open on I-985, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, after multiple wrecks with injuries backed traffic up in northbound lanes.

Two people were transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center from the I-985 wreck, and one person was transported from the wreck near the new Lanier Tech campus on Ga. 365, according to Hall County Fire Services.

Previous story:

Three people were injured in wrecks on Interstate 985 early Monday, Sept. 9.

Two were injured in a wreck at Exit 16, shutting down both northbound lanes.

One northbound lane is now open in the area, said Derreck Booth, Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Other details weren’t immediately available.

Elsewhere, one person was injured in a wreck on Ga. 365 northbound at Lanier Tech Drive, said Kevin Holbrook, Gainesville Police Department spokesman.

That wreck involved a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer truck.

“It is reported that one occupant of the truck was injured and entrapped,” Holbrook said.

All northbound lanes are blocked at I-985’s Exit 24, which is just south of Lanier Tech Drive.

Also, emergency responders were working a wreck at Exit 14, which opened last week, said Zachary Brackett, Hall County Fire Services spokesman.

This story will be updated.
