The president and CEO of CARE USA, the American branch of a global humanitarian nonprofit, will be speaking at a WomenSource luncheon in Gainesville on March 27.

Michelle Nunn will be discussing her leadership experiences at the Motivating Women luncheon at the Chattahoochee Country Club Wednesday. Elizabeth Burnette, WomenSource’s executive director, said Nunn’s work to empower women reflects the goals WomenSource has on the local level.

“We invited her so we could showcase her life of leadership and learn from her how she has continued year after year to be a leader in Georgia but around the globe,” Burnette said.

Nunn is also a co-founder of the volunteer mobilization group Hands on Atlanta, which merged with Points of Light, which works with nonprofits around the world. Nunn was Points of Light’s CEO from 2007 to 2013.

Nunn, who lives in Atlanta, also ran to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate in 2014.

WomenSource is a local organization that hosts educational programming with the goal of empowering women.

Registration is required for the March 27 luncheon. Individual tickets are $50, and a table of eight is $500. Email to sign up.
