A stabbing Friday in Flowery Branch has resulted in the death of a woman, police said.

Flowery Branch Police Chief Gerald Lanich said the department is on the lookout for a male suspect, but he provided no desciption.

"Our officers answered a call around 5 o'clock to a domestic issue," Lanich said. "When they arrived on scene it was obvious there had been an altercation and as a result ... there's been a death."

Lanich could not provide further details on the victim or the suspect and said the investigation is ongoing.
