A Gainesville woman is accused of forging five checks totaling more than $800 at Ingles grocery store, 4260 Winder Highway in South Hall.

Misty Lea McDonald, 24, is charged with five counts of first-degree forgery and is being held without bail at the Hall County Jail, said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

"All of the checks were written on closed accounts and tendered at the (store)," he said.

The arrest follows an investigation of the incidents, which took place between Feb. 25 and Aug. 13.

Investigators obtained warrants and arrested Ms. McDonald without incident on Thursday.

At the time, McDonald was on probation for similar charges in 2010.
