Woman charged with DUI in wreck that injured 2 teens

A Cumming woman was charged Tuesday with DUI in a two-car wreck that injured two teenagers, one seriously, on Ga. 60/Thompson Bridge Road south of Willow Oak Drive. Kathryn Pledger, 24, was driving a Kia Optima north on Ga. 60 when she crossed into the southbound lane near Squirrel Creek and struck an Acura head-on, said Tracey Watson of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.The wreck happened at about 9:47 a.m., shutting down traffic on Thompson Bridge Road while authorities worked at the scene. The driver of the Acura, James Baird, 17, of Flowery Branch, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
