Winder soldier found dead in Afghanistan
Incident is still under investigation

A Winder soldier died after being found unresponsive in his room on Saturday, according to a news release from the 82nd Airborne Division public affairs office.

Staff Sgt. Keith F. Rudd, 36, of Winder, died in Parvan, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Rudd was an Airborne Division paratrooper combat medic who joined the Army on May 22, 2003.
This was Rudd’s third deployment.
