Georgia State Patrol has identified the man killed in a Saturday motorcycle wreck as Christopher Todd Childers, 44, of Winder.

The wreck occurred at about 5:10 p.m. on Cleveland Highway south of Whitmire Circle.

Childers was driving south on Ga. 11 when he lost control of the cycle and was thrown from it. The vehicle struck a motorcycle driven by Juddson Jay West, 34, of Cleveland, who was driving north on Ga. 11, said Operator Amber Sorrells.

"Both had on their helmets, but (Childers’) helmet came off during the accident," she added.

West was uninjured in the wreck.
