Chuck Westfall was named postmaster of Clermont, effective Aug. 29.

Westfall had been acting postmaster of the town. He also has served as acting postmaster in Pendergrass and in Gainesville. Westfall began his postal career in 1986 as a letter carrier in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He held several positions there before moving to Gainesville in 2003.

As postmaster, he manages five employees that cover three routes and 650 post office boxes in the Clermont branch.
