West Hall Middle School Principal Sarah Justus announced her retirement Tuesday at a faculty meeting.

Justus has been with Hall County Schools for 30 years, starting as a teacher at Lula Elementary School in 1980 and moving her way up to principal at West Hall starting in 2003, when she replaced Jim Sargent, who now serves as Director of Student Services for the school system.

“She’s given her life to Hall County schools and is ready to explore some other options,” Hall County Superintendent Will Schofield said. “We appreciate her and all she’s done for our boys and girls.”

Justus moved from Lula to assistant principal at West Hall Middle School in 1998 before beginning her principal position.

“She’s an exceptional woman,” Schofield said.
