The Victims’ Rights Week ceremony, which was scheduled to take place Friday, April 12, in downtown Gainesville has been canceled.

The decision by the Hall County Solicitor’s Office and Hall County District Attorney's Office to call off the event was due to the threat of inclement weather, according to a Hall County government press release. The release, which was sent just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, did not include any information about plans to reschedule.

The public ceremony was intended to raise awareness about crime victims’ issues and rights and shine light on resources available in the community.
