Authorities named the man killed in a South Hall County accident Friday as Walter Hedges, 62, of Buford.

The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on McEver Road when Hedges' motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Matthew Millwood, 22, of Flowery Branch.

Millwood, driving north on McEver at the time, was attempting a left turn onto Radford Road, a Georgia State Patrol trooper said.

The victim died after he was taken from the scene to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition.

Millwood suffered only minor injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
