Vacant Hall County home destroyed by fire; no one hurt

An early morning house fire in a vacant home resulted in a total loss but no injuries, Hall County Fire Services reported.

Units from Hall and the Gainesville Fire Department responded to the fire about 4:45 a.m. Friday, May 25, in the 100 block of Hillcrest Drive off Shallowford Road, which was determined to be in county jurisdiction. Crews worked to extinguish the fire that had fully involved the 1,500-square-foot home.

The home appeared to be vacant, Fire Services spokesman Zachary Brackett reported, and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. The structure is a total loss, Brackett reported.
