The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will hold counseling workshops for veterans at Georgia Department of Labor career centers in Stephens and Habersham counties this month.

Edward Robbins, a veterans outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshops.

The first is set for Feb. 16 at the Toccoa Career Center, 37 Foreacre St. The second is set for Feb. 18 at the GDOL’s Habersham Career Center, 215 Hodges St. in Cornelia. Both begin at 10 a.m.

The workshops will offer a variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, and assistance in applying for VA benefits.

Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver’s licenses, along with their resumes. GDOL staff will be on site to assist them with resume critiquing, employment counseling and job referrals.
