U.S. Rep. Paul Broun is planning to open three mobile offices next week in the 10th District towns of Homer, Hiawassee and Clayton.

The Athens-based Republican will have members of his staff on hand to provide constituent services at each location.

"This is an opportunity for individuals to learn information about national current events or receive assistance with a federal agency, such as the IRS, Social Security, and the Veterans Administration or Medicare," Broun said.

"Although I can't override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a person's behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape."

The mobile officers will be open from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Towns County Senior Center, 67 Lakeview Circle in Hiawassee; 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the City Hall Complex, 99 N. Church St., Clayton; and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Banks County Seniors Center, 700 Thompson St., Homer.

Residents also may contact one of Broun's district offices in Toccoa at 706-886-1008 or Athens at 706-549-9588 for assistance.
