UNG to cancel some classes for eclipse Monday
UNG Gainesville

University of North Georgia officials have announced plans to cancel classes from noon to 4 p.m. Monday to give all members of the university community the chance to view the solar eclipse.

Monday is the first day of classes for the fall semester on the university’s five campuses. Classes will be held as scheduled that morning and will resume at 4 p.m., according to a statement received from the university.

UNG students are encouraged to take advantage of the viewing activities being planned by Student Life on the Dahlonega, Gainesville and Oconee campuses to view the eclipse safely.
