Two men injured after car goes into ditch
Driver charged with DUI

Two Gainesville men were taken to the hospital with injuries after their car drove into a ditch off of Thompson Bridge Road.

Casey Culbreth, 33, of Gainesville, was driving a 1964 Ford Galaxie southbound on Thompson Bridge Road north of Hopewell Road.

Georgia State Patrol said Culbreth was going into a curve at a high speed and lost control.

“(The car) traveled off the roadway and into the ditch,” according to state patrol.

The car overturned and came to rest back on its tires, and passenger Michael Martin, 30, of Gainesville, was ejected, according to state patrol.

Culbreth was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries along with Martin, whose injuries were described as “critical.”

Culbreth was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane and serious injury by vehicle.
