A truck hauling processed chicken was damaged after it caught fire and burned on Highway 51 near Lula on Thursday, June 6.
Banks County firefighters responded shortly before 6 p.m. to 2405 Highway 51 South, where they discovered the truck approximately 25 percent involved in fire, according to Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.
Fire crews fought the blaze while also protecting another truck parked nearby and an adjacent church building, Nichols said in an emailed release.
The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the trailer portion of the truck.
No injuries were reported.
Nichols said the truck caught fire after a tire blew out, and the cause was listed as accidental.
