Two teenagers from Clarkesville and one from Martin were killed in a Friday morning wreck in Toccoa, according to authorities.

Tristin Elizabeth Helton, 18, Kennedy Ruthann Wright, 16, and Macklen-Jace Elijah Alexander, 17, were killed in the crash around 12:15 a.m. on Brookhaven Circle in Stephens County.

Georgia State Patrol said Helton, of Clarkesville, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee around a right curve “when the vehicle failed to maintain its lane and traveled across the southbound lane.”

“The vehicle then traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway, striking numerous trees,” according to state patrol.

Wright, of Clarkesville, was in the front seat and Alexander, of Martin, was one of the backseat passengers. Another backseat passenger, Kainan Terrell Green, 17, of Toccoa, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition.

No further information was released by authorities.
