Former Gainesville High School Principal Curtis Segars is scheduled to be sworn in and take a seat on the Gainesville City Council at its Thursday work session. His appointment to serve four months as the Ward 1 representative was approved last week by council members. The city charter allows members to appoint a member when the unexpired term of service is less than 12 months.
