Hall County resident Doug Aiken was not happy when he was told he could not speak before the Hall County Board of Commissioners at a March 22 public meeting. Aiken, who attends nearly every commission meeting, wanted to talk about the county’s ongoing deliberations about the sale of the old county jail in Gainesville. However, Chairman Tom Oliver told Aiken he could not speak per board policy because his topic was not on the agenda.
