Ice forms on a fountain at Brenau University Monday afternoon as the temperature hovers around freezing.

A forecast of freezing rain didn’t come to fruition for much of the day Monday in Hall County, but biting cold temperatures led to some freezing rain Monday night.

Temperatures hovered between 28 and 30 for most of the day in Gainesville, according to the National Weather Service. The wind chill was between 17 and 21.

With a winter weather blast largely avoided Monday, a warm weekend is in the forecast for Hall County.

The weather service forecasts highs in the upper 60s on Saturday with a 20 percent chance of rain.
