The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Monday night stabbing on Georgia Avenue that may have been drug-related.

Officers responded at 7:30 p.m. to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the Gainesville Mill area.

When they arrived, they found that Quinton Xavier Borden, 38, had been stabbed in the shoulder, Hall County Sheriff’s Col. Jeff Strickland said.

Strickland said Borden was standing in his yard when he was approached by a man. A scuffle ensued and Borden was stabbed in the shoulder, Strickland said.

The assailant, described as a white man with blond hair and a beard, then left the scene, possibly in an older-model Ford pickup truck. He was wearing a black jacket.

Borden said he didn’t know the man, who was asking for drugs, Strickland said.

Borden was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he received treatment for his injuries. He was released Tuesday morning, Strickland said.
