A Gainesville man accused in a November 2014 fatal shooting on West Avenue in Gainesville has been returned to Hall County from Mexico, police said.

Hector Alejandro Bautista, 21, was wanted on a felony murder warrant by Gainesville Police.

“He was located in Mexico and extradited back here,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in an email.

Felony murder warrants were filed for Bautista and David Olivas, 21, of Doraville, in connection to the death of Daniel Cornejo, 21, of Gainesville, who was found shot Nov. 19, 2014, in the 700 block of West Avenue.

Cornejo was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Olivas still has an active warrant, Van said.

Police did not release any new information on the case.

Bautista was booked Wednesday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
