Students owe more on college loans, but Ga. fares better than most

A college degree comes with a price tag, and graduates over the past decade were not shopping on the clearance racks. According to the Associated Press, the average college graduate leaves campus with about $25,000 in loan debt — a 25 percent jump since 2002. The average in Georgia, however, is just below $19,000, according to The Project on Student Debt.
