A thunderstorm that moved through Hall County on Monday evening caused some minor damage.

The intersection of Washington and Main streets in Gainesville will be closed until around midnight due to a downed power pole, Gainesville Fire Department spokesman Keith Smith said. Power was cut off to the pole, and crews were working to replace it, he said.

Some downed trees were reported in the area of the Brenau University campus, Smith said.

He said there was no structural damage reported.

Hall County Fire Services spokesman Scott Cagle said some trees and limbs were down in the Joe Chandler Road area, and there were some associated power outages.
