The World Trade Organization has ruled against India in its yearslong ban on U.S. poultry imports, including meat and eggs, a first step toward reopening access to the subcontinent’s lucrative market. The ruling is good news for the local poultry industry. “The WTO ruling against India’s ban on poultry from the United States is a very positive development,” said Mike Giles, president of the Georgia Poultry Federation, which is based in Gainesville.
