Concrete slab replacement along the northbound lanes of Interstate 985 will begin Monday night, according to a Georgia Department of Transportation press release.

Single lanes will be closed starting at 7 p.m. to allow crews to cut out and replace the pavement.

“This time, the concrete slab work will be done overnight,” Gainesville District Engineer Brent Cook wrote in the release.

Times and dates of work may vary due to cold temperatures. The work is scheduled to continue from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Friday mornings. No slab work will take place between 5 a.m. Dec. 23 through 10 p.m. Dec. 26 to account for holiday traffic.

Slabs will be replaced starting at the interchange between I-85 and I-985 and continuing northbound to Ga. 369.
