State Ag commissioner visits Gainesvilles farmers market
Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black checks out some fresh vegetables Friday offered by Richard Presley of Presley’s Farm of Maysville while at the downtown Gainesville farmers market. Black stopped at the market as part of a statewide farmers market tour. Gov. Nathan Deal proclaimed the week of June 21-28 “Farmers Market Week” in Georgia. The agriculture department notes farmers markets generate $30 million in revenue statewide. The downtown Gainesville farmers market runs 2:30-6:30 p.m. every Friday.
