Saint Mary Magdalene’s relic arrived Thursday morning in Gainesville at Saint Michael Catholic Church and will be there for viewing until just after 9 a.m. Mass today.
The relic, a portion of a tibia bone, was brought by the Rev. Richard Borgman to the United States through Bishop Dominique Rey from the Toulon region of France. The Rev. Thomas Michelet, a Dominican priest, also is traveling with the relic. It will make stops in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and New York on its North American tour.
The relic also will be available for viewing at Saint Paul of the Apostle on Friday in Cleveland and then returns to Gainesville Saturday and Sunday.
