DAWSONVILLE — Southern Catholic College’s Board of Trustees has a new member.

The 21-member board now includes James Eckstein, who serves as managing partner of MCAP Partners in Atlanta.

Eckstein also is a major gifts officer for Marist School, a Catholic high school in Atlanta.

"I look forward to contributing my expertise in the area of business development to Southern Catholic College and advancing (its) noble and valuable mission for the Catholic faithful and for society — educating young adults as moral leaders," he said.

Jeremiah J. Ashcroft, Southern Catholic’s president, said he believes Eckstein’s "expertise in business development and successful track record in fundraising in the Catholic community will be invaluable assets for Southern Catholic College."
