Partygoers got their annual midwinter head start on Mardis Gras on Saturday by dressing up in their finest festival attire for the annual Fasching event in Helen. Members of Helen’s Faschingsverein organization held their usual parade, party and tubing trip down the Chattahoochee River on an unseasonably warm January day. The festival included games, contests, music and plenty of food and drink.
