A 16-year-old skateboarder died Monday night after he was struck by a vehicle on Ga. 53 near Dawsonville.

Dawson County Emergency Services Director Billy Thurmond said Tyler Seay died at Atlanta Medical Center, where he was flown after suffering critical injuries in the collision.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. on Ga. 53 near Frank Bruce Road.
