The Hall County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy is now accepting applicants.

The seven-week, 14-session program informs residents about the role the sheriff's office performs in the Hall County community.

Classes will meet 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 14 at the Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center on Main Street in Gainesville. The program consists of both classroom and practical exercises. There is no cost to participate.

Upon acceptance into the program, residents can expect sessions examining the Court Services Division, the Detention Center, Uniform Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations.
