The tire-flipping Hall County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and fellow law enforcement are leading an effort of healthier choices for school children.
The initiative kicked off Tuesday for the 2015-16 school year with the “Healthy Heroes Program” aimed at showing students the benefits of good nutritional decisions.
The work is part of the Avoiding Drugs, Violence and Negative Choices Early Unit.
Sgt. Greg Cochran, known for his feats of physical strength, started the curriculum in fifth-grade classrooms in Hall County schools.
“In Healthy Heroes, Sergeant Cochran will stress to Hall County students the importance of a proper diet, and assist them in establishing a routine that will motivate them for future success,” Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch said in a news release.
