The United States can have a similar economic boom as was seen in the last half of the 20th century, but it also faces a huge risk if that doesn’t occur, U.S. Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., told the Rotary Club of Gainesville on Monday. “We’re sitting on a God-given boom in potential economic power,” Perdue said. His plan to make that happen would involve reducing spending, except for the military; changing tax law to lower the corporate tax rate and bring back taxes lost when corporate profits are sent overseas; and reducing regulations.
