Wanda Creel, superintendent for Gainesville schools, will host chats with parents and community members Thursday and Tuesday at the Panera Bread located at 625 Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville.

The times for the events are 7:30 a.m. and noon. The meeting for parents will be Thursday; community members are invited for the Tuesday session.

Creel said she has had multiple advisory groups — teachers, classified employees, parents, community and clergy — since she has been in Gainesville and at other positions.

It is different this time because the meetings are planned for a local business.

“We’re going out into the community, hoping to make people feel a little more comfortable,” she said.
