One lane at a time will be closed on U.S. 129 in Cleveland overnight Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, if weather permits. Maintenance work will close the lanes 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.

"Rain last Sunday and Monday nights postponed our resurfacing plans," Georgia DOT District Engineer Todd McDuffie said. "Georgia DOT maintenance crews will be milling out damaged asphalt and replacing it on U.S. 129/state Route 11."

The work will take place south and north of the Cleveland square.

"Flaggers will be in the work zone directing traffic," McDuffie said. "We hope to complete the work in three nights and be finished by the morning commute Wednesday."
