A ribbon-cutting and morning tour of the new Mundy Mill Academy elementary school will be held May 23, school officials said Monday.
“Our plan is to provide the opportunity for all of our employees come and get a tour,” Gainesville City Schools Superintendent Wanda Creel said. “We want to be able to provide biscuits and juice.”
Adrian Niles, school system maintenance and operations director, said kitchen equipment has been delivered to Mundy Mill, and punchlist improvements have begun on the school’s second floor. He said there were no change orders to the $17.4 million project.
School board members also approved a low bid of $162,913.07 from Ernie Morris Enterprises to equip Mundy Mill with furniture.
