The Georgia Department of Transportation is planning resurfacing work on U.S. 129 in Cleveland.

The overnight work, set to occur 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday, weather permitting, will take place south and north of the downtown square.

One lane at a time will be closed as workers mill out damaged asphalt and replace it with new asphalt. Flaggers will be in the work zone directing traffic, District Engineer Todd McDuffie said.

"We’ve planned work to occur overnight to minimize the impact and inconvenience to motorists," he added.
