BRASELTON — As 2009 draws to a close, Château Élan staff are planning for the resort’s end of the year party — the Masquerade New Year’s Celebration.

In years past, Château Élan has thrown New Year’s Eve bashes with different themes, but the inspiration for this year’s soiree came from one of the parties they held last year, according to Paul DeBoer, marketing coordinator for Château Élan.

"This is something we do every year, but we typically have changed the theme each year. Every year prior, we have had two parties — last year we had Carnival and Masquerade parties that were different themes, packaged items and prices," he said.

"This year, we decided to combine the parties and themes into one larger event and we really liked the look and feel of Masquerade, so we decided to repeat it this year but bigger and with new decor."

Attendees can expect a three-course dinner, open bar, live music from Party Nation, party favors, a midnight toast, a New Year’s Day breakfast buffet and a 3 p.m. late checkout from the hotel, DeBoer said.

The formal, black-tie optional event is expected to bring about 600 people to Château Élan, he said.

"It is going to be a great event and we are expecting another sold out year, so call us quickly if you wish to attend," DeBoer said.
