Regions Bank plans to close two Hall County branches — one on Park Lane at Sherwood Plaza Shopping Center and the Clermont branch, 5205 Cleveland Highway — Regions spokesman Mel Campbell said Tuesday.

With the closings, Regions would have five locations in Gainesville — the main office at the intersection of Jesse Jewell and E.E. Butler parkways, Shallowford Road, Dawsonville Highway, Thompson Bridge Road and Mundy Mill Road.

The bank “will make every effort to identify other jobs in the company” for the employees at the branches that are closing. Each branch has three or four people who work there.

Campbell said decisions about closings are based on a variety of factors, including traffic, volume, profitability and location of other branches.
