Jennifer Reyes, 10, rings the bell on her new bicycle Friday afternoon at the Hall County Boys and Girls Club. Regions Bank donated 150 bikes to the club.
It wasn’t Christmas, but Friday afternoon still made for a perfect day to ride a new bike.

Regions Bank donated 150 bicycles to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County during a student assembly on Friday afternoon at the club.

The signature green bicycles are like those featured in the bank’s advertising campaigns.

"We couldn’t be more grateful to Regions Bank for making this donation," said Joe Ethier, chief professional officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs. "The bicycles fit perfectly into the programs here at the clubs, many of which encourage the children to become more active and to make healthier choices for their leisure activities. Thanks to everyone involved, there are a lot of smiling faces here today at the Boys and Girls Clubs."

Many of the bicycles donated will be used by the club rewards for academic achievement.

More than 50 of the bikes presented Friday were given to students in recognition of their first-semester grades. Some of the bicycles also will be used by the club in the Triple Play program that encourages daily exercise and healthy habits.

"Regions is committed to being an active presence in Gainesville and Hall County, and we are excited to be able to make this donation to benefit the girls and boys in our county," said Dan Carey, Regions’ Gainesville president.
