Above average temperatures, high humidity and a whole lot of rain brought a soggy start to winter this past weekend. According to the National Weather Service, 3.58 inches of rain fell by Sunday night in the Gainesville area. Weather service meteorologist Alex Gibbs said more was forecasted to fall, which could bring the total to 6 inches.
